Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Super Smash Bros. Brawl….I must say one of the best gamever! (If not THE best!)

Being a Wii game, you have four options of a controller.  You can use the Wii remote with the nunchuk, Wii remote (held sideways), the Classic Controller, or the Gamecube controller.  And now, for an incomplete guide of the game!

Let’s start with all the characters you start out with.

-Mario

SSB veteran, and probably most famous player.  B up is his Super Jump Punch; he jumps superly and causes coins to come out of whoever he hit, B is Fireball; shoots a bouncy fireball! Pretty weak attack.  B left/right is Mario’s Cape attack; reflects any projectiles if at the right time, and B down is F.L.U.D.D., from Super Mario Sunshine!  He stores up water and can then release it and blow an opponent off stage!

Final Smash-Mario Finale

Mario lets loose a huge fiery tornado that expands as it goes, to inflict damage on as many enemies as possible!!!!

-Princess Peach

Another veteran, and one of the least used!  Press B while using Peach and she wil hold up Toad, who also reflects any projectiles coming his way.  B side is the Peach Bomber…just sortof makes anyone she hits explode.  B up is the Peach Parasol; she flys up with an umbrella and gently…floats….down…    Hit B and down, and Peach will pull a radish out of the ground.  If the radish has what almost looks like a zombie face on it, it will cause extra damage! (This is incredibly rare.)  Once in a while, she’ll also randomly pull out either a Bob-bomb, a Mr. Saturn, or a capsule.

Final Smash-Peach Blossom

Threatening name, huh?  When Peach gets ahold of a Smash Ball, everything goes pink!  Players fall asleep, the closer the longer.  Peaches (actual fruit, not the Princess!) also appear.  Eat em’ up!

-Bowser

Bowser, arch enemy of Mario, is back in the game!  He still moves incredibly slow, though.  All you have to do to use his signature move, Fire Breath, is hit the B button.  Bowser will breathe fire for a short time (I say “short” because as time passes, the stream of flames becomes shorter and shorter.)  Grab a foe using Flying Slam (B side) and you have one of two options: bite and gnaw on him/her for a while, or slash them away.  Hit B down in the air and you’ll come crashing down with an earth-quaking Bowser Bomb.  And, last but most certainly not least, hit B up in the air to get some spinning vertical distance; helping to get back to the stage and causing some damage along the way, too!

Final Smash-Giga Bowser

After cracking open a Smash Ball with Bowser, you transform into the might Giga Bowser, back for revenge from Smash Bros. Melee!!!  As Giga Bowser, all of your attacks are quintupled in power (I actually don’t have a clue how much stronger they are, I just picked a random number)!!  Try it out: But you only stay transformed for about 10 seconds.  What a rip-off!

-Yoshi

Yoshi is the big, purple, fun-loving….wait….wrong dinosaur.  Ohhhh, yeah.  Yoshi’s the green one that has an extremely long tongue and eggs turtles.  Well, either way, he’s back the the Brawl.  B is Yoshi’s number one move, called Egg Lay.  His long, sticky tongue comes out and nabs whoever is closest to him and turns them into an egg!  B side is Egg Roll, roll around…in an egg….at high speed.  Another very original name, I know.  Egg Throw is B up, chuck an egg by aiming for either an enemy from above or one in front of you.  And finally, B down is the Yoshi Bomb.  Yoshi slams his butt down on the ground and anyone to the left or right of him will get damage, as well.

Final Smash-Super Dragon

Well, after that long array of unoriginal names,  Yoshi’s Final Smash is called the Super Dragon.   He’ll fly around the stage shooting flaming balls from his mouth.  Cool!

-Wario

Wario is back with a new outfit, apparently to show off his new motorcycle.  Speaking of his motorcycle, B side and you can ride the Wario Bike around.  Jump off or make a sharp turn while riding and the motorcycle will fall to the ground.  At this point, Wario can stand near it and ride it again, or another player can destroy or eat it.  Then you can throw the wheels around!  Hit B and Wario will Chomp those in front of him, and B up is a Corkscrew attack that will damage foes or get you back to the stage.  And, after charging for a while, B down will release a deadly Wario Waft.  Causes major damage, but I don’t reccomend using it in the air because I’ve lost a life from going too high!!!!

Final Smash-Wario Man

Take a big bite out of a clove of garlic and transform!  Much like Bowser, Wario’s Final Smash simple makes him faster and more powerful.  And, it only lasts a short time.

-Donkey Kong

The King of the Jingle is back!  Charge up his B move for a while and then let rip a Giant Punch!   Whack some foes into the ground with DK’s B side move, Head Butt.  The more damage they have, the longer they will stay stuck.  (Until someone attacks them!)  B up is “Spinning Kong”, get some vertical distance, back to the stage, or inflict damamge on whoever annoys you.   And B down is my personal favorite, Hand Slap!  Keep pressing B and you’ll continue to slap the ground (No way!) and anyone that comes within feet of you will experience an earthquake!

Final Smash-Konga Beat

Of course, DK’s Final Smash has to be a little more upbeat.  He breaks out the bongos and starts playing!  (I love the back ground music!)  Press A in time with the beat and the damage range around DK will expand.

-Diddy Kong

Press B and Diddy will fire his Peanut Popgun.  Charge up for a while to make it faster and more powerful, but charge too long and you’ll blow up!!!  Also, if the peanut is attacked in mid-air, it will crack open, releasing edible peanuts! Restore some health!  You can also catch the peanuts in the air, then throw them back at Diddy Kong.  B side is Monkey Flip, I’m not totally sure about this move.  You cling on to the face of whoever is in front of you, then hit a button to spring off them.  Charge up your B up attack, Rocketbarrel Blast, and you go flying up into the air, aim by moving the control stick.  There’s also a downside, f your attack while performing this move, one or both of your barrels with go flying off and explode.  It would be a good recovery move but it takes so long to charge…and last and probably least is Lil’ DK’s down B attack, Banana Peel.  There’s not much to say about it, he just throws a banana peel behind him.

Final Smash-Rocketbarrel Barrage

Fly around the stage with Rocketbarrels that can’t blow up, with two Peanut Popguns in your hands!  Fly around shooting whoever you want out of the Brawl first!

-Pit

Pit is the not-very-well-known angel hero from the also-not-very-well-known game, “Kid Icarus”.  His B attack is Palutena’s Arrow.  Basically he fires a big arrow out of a big bow. (You can steer the arrow up or down.)  B side is Angel Ring, he spins his bow, now it two, around rapidly in front of him.  Fancy.  B up is Wings Of Icarus, his wings are ‘activated’ and he can fly around the stage for a limited amount of time.  And finally, B down is called Mirror Shield.  He holds up a big mirrow that sheilds and deflects any projectiles that are flying his way.  Didn’t see that coming…

Final Smash-Palutena’s Army

A giant image of Palutena appears in the background, and Pit commands her army.  Little angels fly around and attack people.  (If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m not too crazy about Pit!)

-Link

Back from Melee, Link is another Smash Bros. Veteran from “The Legend of Zelda”.  He’s a swordsman…in many games the goal is to rescue Zelda, the Queen of Hyrule.  I think.  Hold B and Link will draw his Bow and release an arrow which will shoot whoever’s in front of him.  B down and Link pulls out a bomb, press A to throw it.  Don’t wait too long, bombs have fuses!  B side is Boomerang.  He throws a boomerang, which hits something and flies back.  Or, doesn’t hit anything, and hits something on its way back.  Or, doesn’t hit anything, and flies back without hitting anything.  The boomerang will always come back to Link, unless you are deliberately trying to avoid it.  Spin Attack, one of Link’s stronger moves, can be used by hitting B up.  on land, he’ll spin a sword around.  In the air, the same thing happens, but slightly tilted and he propels himself up.

Final Smash- Triforce Slash

After pressing B, Link traps anyone directly in front of him with two giant triforces.  Tortures them for a bit, then finishes them off with one mighty swing!

-Zelda

Zelda is the queen of Hyrule, from the same series as Link.  Her B attack is called, “Nayru’s Love”.  She basically forms a diamond around herself which reflects and projectiles thrown at her.  Can also be used to harm enemies.  B side is Din’s Fire.  She throws out a ball of fire that either A- Goes a certain distance then explodes or B- She aims it at enemies and then makes it explode by releasing B.  B up makes Zelda teleport, called Farore’s Wind.  After quickly tapping B up, press the control stick in a different direction, and the move transforms from a stage comeback to an escape.  And her B down attack transforms her into

Sheik, Zelda’s alter ego.
